Compassionate Expertise Rooted in Experience
Dominique Dubois, LCSW, LAC
My Background & Philosophy
"Healing isn’t about 'fixing' what is broken; it’s about reconnecting with the part of you that has always been whole."
The Journey to My Practice
My path to becoming a therapist was driven by my own lived experiences with addiction, mental health challenges, and recovery. This journey taught me firsthand what it takes to navigate the darkest moments, and it fuels my passion for walking alongside you on yours.
My Clinical Foundation
To ground my experience in professional practice, I earned my Master of Social Work (MSW) from the Metropolitan State University of Denver. My education instilled in me a deep commitment to social justice and a systemic understanding of mental health. In our work together, we won't just look at you in isolation, but look at how your environment, community, and history shape your well-being.
Over nearly a decade in various clinical settings, I have witnessed the incredible, resilient capacity people have for growth. I know that transformation happens when you are given two essential things: the right tools and a safe, non-judgmental space to process your unique story.
Whether you are navigating recovery, managing mental health struggles, or simply trying to find your footing, I am here to provide the support and strategy you need to step back into your power.
My Clinical Approach
I believe that true change happens when we address both the mind and the body. My approach is 'Integrative,' meaning I pull from various evidence-based practices to meet your unique needs:
EMDR & Somatic Awareness: To release the heavy grip of the past and regulate the nervous system.
ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy): To help you stop struggling against difficult thoughts and start living a life aligned with your deepest values.
SFBT (Solution-Focused Brief Therapy): To identify your existing strengths and find practical, manageable steps toward the future you want.
DBT: For building concrete skills in emotional regulation and distress tolerance."
